In 2019, Mannie Monaghan won Compass Box Whisky’s international bartender programme The Circle. They began working on a new expression together and learned that Mannie is synaesthetic. He had an idea: make a Whisky that tastes like a particular color. Coral.
For Mannie, aromas and flavors show up on a spectrum of color. Combining tropically fruity malt Whiskies from the Glen Elgin and Speyburn distilleries with Whiskies aged in Oloroso Sherry casks and a Single Malt from the Ardmore Distillery for a herbal Highland peat note, he shows you what coral tastes like.
